If you live near, or have ever visited Cape Cod, you know how quickly the weather and lighting can change! For Meagan and Ian’s First Anniversary session, we were blessed not only with perfect weather, but the dreamiest lighting ever! Meagan and I grew up in a small town right down the street from each other. We had not seen each other in YEARS, so I was super excited when we reconnected and she asked me if I would be willing to shoot their anniversary session!
I arrived a bit early for their session to scope out portrait locations, as I knew that there would be a lot of other photographers shooting around the same time. Meagan and Ian were gracious enough to drive all the way from Rhode Island! They had never been to Town Neck Beach, so I was anxiously waiting to see their reaction to the beautiful scenery.
As soon as they got out of the car, I knew that this session was going to be gorgeous. They were both dressed so classically elegant and I couldn’t have asked for better subjects! I knew that I didn’t have to guide them with styling, as Meagan is an awesome fashion blogger who posts about adorable, on trend, affordable fashion. Plus, she is so super sweet and down to earth. Go follow her! Seriously, you’ll love her. Click here for her instagram!
When you first meet Meagan and Ian, it is apparent how madly in love they are. He’s the Jim to her Pam. He looks at her in a way that makes your heart melt, and she looks at him with a sense of joy and security that is so beautiful to see. They met their freshman year of college and have been together ever since. How sweet is that?!
They were both so trusting with whatever I wanted them to do. Neither hesitated when I asked them to sit by a smelly marsh, walk a long boardwalk or sit directly in the sand. Not being much of a picture guy, Ian did not complain or grumble once during our session, even when I had them dance down by the shoreline!
I put on their wedding song, “At Last”, by Etta James, and let them have their moment. Well, tried to at least! They are such a stunning couple, everyone on the beach stopped and watched this beautiful dance! I’m not sure if they realized it or not, but all eyes were definitely on them! I feel so luck to have been able to document this milestone for them.
Happy First Anniversary Meagan & Ian! I hope you always remember how you felt during this first year of marriage. Hold onto each other through the ups and downs. Support each other, always. Never never forget to keep pursuing and dating each other. I cannot wait to watch you grow as a couple and see you succeed in life! It was a pleasure to work with you and cannot wait to do it again!
